When the world shakes, so do our digital spaces

At Jigidi, we feel it too — when there’s unrest, tragedy or conflict somewhere in the world.

It shows up in the puzzles people upload. The comments. The silences.
We see the ripple — and we pause.

Because even though Jigidi isn’t a news platform, we are a social one.
And that means we make social choices — about how people meet, how they interact, and what kind of climate they do it in.

Since 2018, we’ve worked with a clear, values-based approach to moderation.
We don’t allow political, religious or polarising content — not because we don’t care about the world, but because we care about what kind of space Jigidi is.
A space for real presence.
For reflection and creativity.
For gently meeting each other without the noise.

Those values don’t just guide our moderation — they shape every design decision we make.
·      The features we choose to offer (and not offer).
·      The lack of algorithms that reward outrage or hyper-engagement.
·      The social tools that invite conversation — not confrontation.

We believe platforms shape people’s emotional climate.

And if we want people to leave Jigidi feeling a little lighter, more connected, informed and inspired — then we need to build for that. Intentionally.

So when the world shakes, we hold still.
We reach out.
We reaffirm the values our community rests on: kindness, curiosity and creativity.

✨ And to others designing social platforms:
Ask yourself what you want people to take with them when they leave your space.
Then build for that — even if it goes against the grain.
